We only stayed for 2 days but we felt like we'd been there long enough. There has clearly been a security issue in the city and we spoke to a couple on our boat who had stayed there and didn't like it. The part of the city we stayed in was "Cerro Santa Ana". It's where the nightlife is and is actually a gated part of the city with 24 hour security.
A nice pub, pity about the barmaid that refused to smile. We noticed a definite increase in the price of things in Guayaquil |
A pub on the Cerra Santa Ana steps, not great!! Note the gate on the left. |

The guy insisted that 'Flash' was in this photo..??! |
View from my room - the river was massive. |
There wasn't much in the way of architecture. |
The bottom of the 444 steps of Cerra Santa Ana. |
The top |
A strange pub at the top |
